The beginning of the P25 transition for Denver International Airport appears to have begun.

A P25 control channel signal on 857.7125 up and running as of this post. Due to simulcast distortion I am unable to log it up here.

for the simulcast distortion, put the antenna through a hole in the side of a empty pain can, near the bottom.

I had a marginal decode last week and was only able to get a very basic site file for it. At that time, it appeared that all the other frequencies for DIA EDACS remained with that system. I think that there is only a very limited number of TGs for super basic test calls.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the talkgroup I mentioned is connected via a gateway to the DIA EDACS system TG 1581 (12-055). I am sure we will see more of them in the future.

Looks like the P25 system made it into the database. Still appears to be very limited use at this point. Since I don't have two radios I can't confirm, but it does appear that DPD might be using the new system primarily.

There are some radios out in the wild for testing purposes, but everyone is primarily using EDACS for communications. Both system are linked together, so you will hear everyone on the EDACS side whenever someone on the P25 side affiliates to that TG.
