Denver Public Safety P25

I have been listening to the New P25 system for Denver that is currently occupied by the Zoo personnel. What is the plan for the system. From what I have been able to find about the system is that it has been active with at least a control channel for 7 months now. I am guess that system it to replace the Edacs system. Is that correct? If so, when are they going to transition over to the new system. I am guessing, even if it is a harris p25 system, it is awfully expensive of a system for a zoo staff to be using. Maybe I am wrong.

Does anyone know the low down on this?

Talkgroups are actually patched from the public works system so far.

There is a thread from last year about this system and what I got out of it was this will eventually replace the public works system.

Harris is in the incremental process of eliminating EDACS trunking technology to end of life Someone on the inside will likely post the timeline in this thread. We are talking years however.
