Did village of depew police move to a dmr system on saianet? I have not heard anything on their 460.1875 mhz frequency in over a hour. There was a update today on radio reference that stated they are on saianet on talkgroup 500103. Uniden sentiel does not reflect same

Sentinel is only updated once a week, pulling from the RRDB late Sunday, ready for downloading Monday morning (unless something goes wrong). You'll have to manually add the talkgroup if you want to listen to it.

do you know if their analog freq is shut down? I paid for the NXDN upgrade but not the DMR. Depew is the only dept i would listen to on a DMR system. Debating to spend the extra $60 on upgrade.

Unfortunately you need the DMR upgrade to hear them. NXDN is a complete different digital format.

i understand that. I was wondering if they are strictly on DMR saianet and upgrading is the only way to listen to it.

Same here, they have been as quiet as a church mouse on the analog channel for the little I've listened. I have a feeling that they, as well as a few others are going to migrate over to the TIII system, which, as of right now, for what we know, is just techs, but, those have been 100% encrypted. Could be a gamble on getting it, who knows how long its going to be in the clear, or, if its even in their plans. My theory is, this is going to be the new thing, more and more will be switching over to these managed TRS's if they have not already started going/went to a different digital voice.

well i purhcased the upgrade and loaded the new data last night. The are on the new system. IT is much clearer and it is nice to rename the radio identifier. Only issue i have is the SDS100 shows full signal all the time and therefore does not show the scanner actually scanning the 4 lancaster site freq i entered into it

It shows a full signal all the time because it's locked onto the control channel for that site. SaiaNet is a MOTOTRBO Connect Plus trunked system, which operates pretty similarly to a P25 system. There is a full time control channel that the scanner/radio decodes, and they only leave that control channel when there is voice traffic they need to follow. The frequencies are not "scanned" in the traditional manner.

So, a little confused here.... Depew PD's analog channel is quiet, as in nothing all day quiet. DSD hasn't logged a hit on their TG all day either after I didn't monitor the system for over a week. I'm starting to think we might have to do some bigger digging into this, maybe under a different TG now and that one the originally used was just a demo one? Nothing that I've seen yet on the new TIII system too, so, it doesn't appear that they switched to that either.

Let the hunt begin I guess

Yeah, I'm the one that submitted the new find. Its been non-existent today, unless Depew is really that slow that they haven't talked on their radios all day, which I find highly unlikely. Monitoring the just CC in DSD, between both those sites, I haven't even logged a hit on that TG since a few days after it was submitted.

50010x talkgroups have historically been Saia/Demo talkgroups, so it could've been a temporary thing. I'm restoring the 460.1875 listing until we figure out what is going on with them.

460.1875 has been dead all day too. It’s like they vanished in thin air lol. Nothing new really popping up anywhere. I’m starting to wonder if they got a TG that was previously used for something else and all of us locked it out, like some construction thing or something, but that wouldn’t necessarily fit how things have gone in the past either

I just put a couple of my dongles on Elmwood and Colden and see if they show up there.

I have a feeling they moved to the TIII system and are now encrypted.

I had that feeling too, but, I haven’t gotten any new TG’s or RID’s I haven’t seen before, which is another reason why I’m scratching my head
