Hi everyone,

You guys know what freqs the Dept of State PD/dignitary protection would be on in the MA area? Or what freqs I should be scanning. (Tony Blair is speaking in the area today...)

I believe the agency in question is the Diplomatic Security Service, a part of the State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security. As far as I have ever known (I've had them pop up once- for one 10 second tx) they use primarily this freq:
409.6250

Some people still hear them in analog though most report p25. I heard them in analog.

When the State Department provided security for the Dalai Lama this last year on his US visit they used 409.5250 with a NAC of 293. Simplex and un-encrypted. That should be their nationwide simplex channel.

Logged them active on 4-18-2008.

Tony Blair isn't UK PM any more. According to his wikipedia listing, he may however still be some UN-appointed envoy to some sort of Middle East post. Anyway, I don't think he qualifies for SS or DSS protection now.

What town? you might get more intel from Cambridge PD or Boston PD who might handle the escort
