Deputy shot in Northwest Harris county

One deputy taken by lifeflight to Memorial Hermann. Suspect has been held up inside a house saying he shot his mother and was thinking about suicide. SWAT arriving and planning in the 18 wheeler. Ops were on:

HCSO D1, D4, D5, WEST
Cy Fair FD 1,3
FM 1960 FG
District 4 had outer perimeter ops, District 5 had inner perimeter ops.

I say had because I got out of range of the Tomball tower. Should be on the news shortly.

HOUSTON -- A man is suspected of fatally shooting his mother and injuring a sheriff's deputy before killing himself early Sunday morning.

A standoff began about 2 a.m. when a Harris County Sheriff's deputy arrived at a home on Willancy Lane near West Road to investigate a 911 hang-up call. No one answered the door. But as the deputy turned to leave, he was shot by someone in the house, police said.

Following the shooting, the man in the home called a friend and said he shot his mother. The friend called authorities, police said.


The two bodies were discovered about 5 a.m. when a Houston police SWAT team entered the home. The victims have not been identified, but police believe the woman is the man's mother.

The injured deputy, whose identity was not released, was taken by helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital after being shot in the leg and grazed in the abdomen.
