Does anyone on here know any details about the Metro Interoperability Communications System (MICS) in Des Moines/Polk County?

Is there any traffic on it? Is it used much? What kind of traffic would be on these frequencies?

It's for interop purposes. They talk to other agencies and Highway Helper on it. It's multi-band so anyone on VHF/UHF/800 can use it. There's also a portable repeater. What's in those PDFs is just about it. I include it in my scan list.

Thanks Kevin. I programmed it into my TRX-1 yesterday and haven't heard anything since monitoring it.
Is the 800mhz frequencies trunked or non? Have you heard any traffic out of it?
I assume ISP, DMPD, WESTCOM are the main users of this.

It's not used very often. It's a place to hear multi-agency police chases, for example.
