Des Moines PD Radio Numbering Scheme

I just recently started listening to Des Moines PD. I've been able to figure out most of the numbering scheme but a few still confuse me.

What are the letter designations after the unit callsign? For example 225 Vs. 225-A I've also heard a "C" designation after one of the 500 series cars.

I assume 500 series are supervisors
Is there a designation between 200 and 300 series cars?
