LIVE feeds, not to promised 30-minute delayed? Cool!
If so, then why not let the scanner listeners back in and drop the encryption on the non-tactical channels?

Sorry, I should have specified they're delayed 30 minutes. Not Live.

The Brodcastify site says "LIVE FEED LISTING FOR DESCHUTES COUNTY" which is a bit misleading. I find little value in delayed and possibly filtered communications. They know that very few citizens will even bother to listen to the feeds. Mission accomplished.

Yes. Always nice when you see a bunch of patrol cars in your neighborhood. Then sit back and wait 30 minutes to see what the hell is going on.

So people not armed with good up-to-date information are now arming themselves with weapons when they see police activity near them. It does seems logical to protect oneself from an unknown level of threat near by and it didn't used to be this way. Add in fear and It makes for a dangerous combination. So easy to solve, but old news from these "transparency" feeds are certainly not going to do it.

An uninformed public just seems like a bad idea to me. I am hearing of growing distrust since these policies were implemented. Imagine the surprise when they need more money and resources and the public support just isn't there anymore. Public service in Deschutes county has sure changed. Too bad.
