With Sunny skies and 74 degrees expected this weekend, I am
heading up to Crossroads Park in the railfanning Mecca of Deshler, Ohio.
Looking forward to loading the Pro-96 up with rail freqs and breaking in
my new digital camera. I also plan on running ATCS on the laptop.

Should be a good day for seeing lots of trains!

You should head on over to Fostoria to do some watching since you will be up this way (120+ trains per day). People spend entire vacations to go railfanning in there. You can check out there yahoo group HERE and there website HERE

Been there done that! I prefer the more laidback atmosphere of Deshler
I don't mind a few less trains.

LOL I never head of Fostoria being fast paced :) Have you ever been to Willard to check out the CSX yard there? Its a good place to check out some parked trains and see some yard work going on. They have never hassled me when I would snoop around a bit.

It was a beautiful day at Crossroads Park for watching trains. Traffic was
rather light with only 12 trains in the 2 - 9 PM period.

CSX 7376 blows by Deshler Tower wb with a consist of tank cars on
Saturday May 7, 2005

Mark:

What kind of digital camera are you using?

I'm looking to buy one later this year for family pictures, and railfanning :) Right now, since I can include it under a computer purchase agreement, i'm leaning toward the Pentax iST DSLR.

Thanks,

Warren

Warren, if you are looking for a digital SLR then the Canon Rebel is a tough one to beat.
