Well, this is my first post on Radio Reference so I thought I would introduce my first Ham Shack. I am not a Ham yet but I have registered to take my Technician and General class exams April 20th of this year. Hopefully I will pass. I have been studying like crazy for the past two weeks and I think I just started to master the Technician level of things. I just got my General class study guide so now to incorporate that and keep studying.
Okay, now on to the shack. I designed a large desk 8' long as a master area to do all my "tinkering" and figured that would be big enough for the time being. I took a little money that I set aside for "fun" and figured this would better be suited for building a shack. I purchased a Kenwood TS-590, TM-281A, Alinco DM330MV and an antenna for 2 meters (which I have not put up but I'm getting to it) to fill the void in the desk. So far I have caught some activity on 40 meters and I regularly listen to a few 2 meter nets locally. I'm growing very anxious to get the opportunity to transmit rather than just listening.
I will be organizing a little more and will put up more pictures (with a better lighting setup) so you can see the progress. Let me know what you think...
