Does anyone know of a source for a good desktop holder for a PRO-95 with a fairly long Diamond RH77CA antenna?

I have been trying to find clear acrylic or spice racks that won't tip over.

I have used the plastic phamplet holders from Office Max and then just used a 3m command strip to hold it down.

Hope that helps.

Sounds like a good idea but I need to be able to pick up the scanner without a lot of fuss. You gave me an idea to check Staples for calculator holders or something like it.

Get one of those metal bookends (office supply) that has the small foam padding on the bottom (scratch resistance). Turn it over so that the bottom (with the foam) is now angled slightly back, hook the belt clip of the radio over that and bingo! To further clairify what position it would be in, the part that normally faces out from the books, would be facing the desk/table or whatever you have it resting on; the part that usually sits on the desk, shelf, etc. is the part that you hook the radio on.

The ones without the scratch protecting padding will work also, but the radio will tend to shift on them too easily.

Try this "Nifty HT Desk Stand"
http://www.niftyaccessories.com/HT Stand.htm

All the handhelds I've palce on them set a a very usable angle. They don't slide due to the rubber feet and weighted bottom. I've got an IC-R2, IC-R10, IC-R20, VR-500 and a PRO-43 (with a RH77CA) sitting in these on my desk. At $31 each, you'll need to deceide if they are worth it.

I use a picture frame holder that is one of those 'L' shaped kinds. I bought the one in the pictures at Wal-Mart for $1.84. It's for a 5x7 picture by the way. This one is metal and you can bend it to suit what angle you want.

I've since bought a 4x6 frame and it works much better than the 5x7. Also glued a foamy cabinet liner on the bottom of the frame and it doesn't move anymore when I press the buttons.

This looks very stable and you can push the buttons easily. Thanks.

Desk Top Holder for scanner

I went to a book store and purchased one of their white plastic wire covered book holders-8.5 inches tall by 3.5 inches wide, with 2 adjustable stand pieces so you can angle the scanner at whatever degree you want. The bottom has a "J" like bend that keeps the scanner from sliding off the stand. Cost me $2.50. You could probably find something similar in an office supply/stationary store.

Mine works great. The scanner fits right inside the wire holders and its tall enough that the anntenna rests along the top portion of the holder.

I thought the picture frame was a good idea, but didn't want to give-up too much space on my desk. I went to Office Max and looked at the book-ends. The one that would work best for me was $11. That was okay, but I had to buy two, and I didn't want another thing around the house taking up space.

So check this out, they had a rectangular pencil holder on clearance fo 50 cents. It's roughly 2 3/4 X 2 1/4 by 3 3/4" high. The radio extends about 2" below the thing, so the whole thing tips back onto the rear edge. Surprisingly, doesn't slide when I hit the buttons.

I don't know what the angle is, but It sits nicely. I have a RS 20-006 collapsable antenna on the scanner. The bottom 3 segemnts are extended for 400, 800 MHz. About 11" worth.

Happy mizer.
