I am listening to Horn Lake PD right now on the analog system. They haven't switched yet but I hear the build out is in progress for the Phase 2 system.

I have all freqs programmed listed in DB and receiving the analog trunked system fine but there is no law enforcement traffic. I am hearing occasional fire traffic.

Desoto Sheriff is in the DB. We'll have to do detective work on the others that pop up that we can listen on.

You set up ID Search parameters in your scanner, or wildcards for ID Search etc. And run Pro96Com, UniTrunker, etc... And log sites extensively for traffic. Make notes of the ID ranges, the RIDs in use, that comes in handy for encrypted TGs etc... Ad you listen, listen, listen!

Example:

Site X23, is carrying most of the traffic for ABC Sheriff. You hear Dispatch in the clear on 23444, and find the following TGs also in use, but all are encrypted: 23445, 23446, 23447. You can be pretty sure they are related to the SO Dispatch. You then note the RID for the SO console is 237777, and Narcotics Detectives RIDs of 237541, 237542, 237543.. when they are talking to Dispatch, and then see those same RIDs on TG 23446 exclusively..... You can pretty much lock this in as ABC SO Narcotics. It takes a bit of work, thought, and time, but that is how its done.
