Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Detecting inbound "Call ID"

Hi,

I have 2x password locked DP3400 radio operating on a digital frequency. I know the frequency, but not the 'Call ID' they are using.
I wish to have this radio talk to another DP2600 (not locked) which is already programmed up with the same frequency, but as mentioned I don't know what Call_ID the DP3400's are using for the GroupCall.

Is there a way to detect the inbound Call_ID on the DP2600 via the display or similar ?
FYI, the DP2600 drops its LCD signal meter when the DP3400 broadcasts, so the frequency looks good, but clearly the config isn't (which i assume to be the Call_D).

Any ideas appreciated.

No, there isn't. Besides, you should probably get the radios reprogrammed to whatever you are licensed for instead of just using whatever is already programmed. You could be interfering with someone without even knowing it

I'm not well versed in DMR scanning, but I think you can identify the talkgroup on a scanner, or with an SDR

The current radios are programmed up professionally and with a licensed channel the owner has. Its the dealer who is not playing nice and wont let the owner connect other devices. Yes, the surefire way is a recovery with blank codeplug, but we were trying to avoid that as we want to keep the dealer somewhat happy for other reasons.
