Detroit Control Channel

When the system first switched over I heard DFD in and out choppy. Now I barely hear them at all. I know they are busier then for me to hear a transmission more than just once every 5-10 minutes. Also when there is a transmission, it seems like it wants to transmit on a frequency, but it keeps going back to the control channel really fast back and forth. I only hear the transmission when it is on the regular frequency for a fraction of a second before it goes to the control channel for the next fraction of a second. I am still working on getting a bigger antenna to see if that helps. I use a uniden 296D from the Dearborn area and I have it set on plan 2 with the scanner ignoring the end code and no delay.

Try setting the delay at 2 sec . Sounds like the scanner might not be waiting long enough to lock onto the transmit frequency.
It's normal to see the control frequency flash back and forth when it doesn't lock.

Correct, but that has nothing to do with the delay.

Hello Joe,

There is stuff I never heard before myself also so your not alone.
The feed is experimental so one never knows what might be heard. hi hi

At the present I'm using a old junk Ringo 2 meter vertical @ 40 feet for the VHF fire departments and feeding it on the left stereo channel.

The other audio channel has the digital stuff on it and the antenna is a 14 element home brew 800MHz yagi @ 35 feet. pointed East from my shack in Canton.

on the left I hear Canton PD 155.250 and western wayne and st. clair county fire 154.37 and whateveryoucallit 154.43 oakland county.monroe county/vhf...oh now i hear 154.010 livingston county also

on the right I hear western wayne 800 mhz digital and MPSCC so far
