Has anyone heard DFDEMS using the hospital TG's yet? If so is there a main TG like say MED9 that they call Detroit Medical Dispatch before getting a med channel, like the old UHF??

When transporting, we just switch to the recieving facility's TG and call 'em

Detroit Medical Dispach was never really a thing.
The console was part of the main Detroit EMS Dispatch side of the DFD Dispatch ( Central Office ) at Police Headquarters.
The two EMS dispatchers ( East & West ), who ever had a free hand
answered that radio. Assigned the med channel and patched the transporting unit
to the hospital console.

Today you just change the channel, either the rig radio or on the prep, to the hospital your transporting to key the mike and your on with 'em.

These new radios are crisp and clear, comms improved 5000% over the VHF.

Yeah thats good for the DFDEMS units but not transporting unit like the GP's or HW who use/ed Detroit for there patches to the hospital.

I think your folks are using HEMS,are they not? HEMS covers most of the south and west of the city on 155.340, 155.400 and the UHF Med Channels. ALL of the Detroit Hospitals still and prob always will have the HEMS radio. I don't see that huge thing going any where soon.

Nope we fall under DEMCA not HEMS, so we have no way of contacting the hospital for orders except our cells phones!

Found out what the problem was!!! The radio was turned off in DFD dispatch. With a little reprogramming on the part of Detroit communications MED9 loud and clear!
