I am on the fringes of the DIA 800 harris system and have noted in frequency searches that most if not all frequencies for that system have continous carriers inbetween P25 transmissions. Anyone in the metro area confirm this and are you having issues tracking the system with scanners.

I assume you are speaking of the Denver International Airport. Do you have all 15 frequencies programmed. A Harris system can use any frequency as the control channel. The database shows 3 frequencies as not being control channel capable. I suspect that is an error.

I am well aware on how L3-Harris trunking systems operate. There were dead carriers on all frequencies of the system in-between P25 transmissions at the time of the original post.

My distance from this simulcast system is such that I cannot get a control channel lock to verify if this was causing issues with scanners.

It's evident that no one bothers with this system since there was no local response to this thread. Since DPD is ENC on this system it does not surprise me.

With the exception of 2 L.E. agencies in Adams county and CSP interest in scanning in the immediate Denver metro area is all but dead.

What scanner are you using? Are you having this problem when monitoring each frequency individually, or in regular trunk tracking mode? If you're not using an SDS product, your scanner will not consistently track any simulcast system such as of this one.

I was asking if anyone in the metro area was having issues with this system. I am outside the footprint of this system with very weak signals to the point that unication G series paging receivers will not lock on to the CC.

I was finding the dead carriers on the system frequencies during 800 range searches with Uniden and GRE scanners and hearing raw P25 data on them with dead carrier continuation after the P25 data dropped.

Basically the repeaters were in continuous carrier mode.

By "dead carriers" do you mean there's no audio and no data on them?

I see, it's intermittent data between idle carrier.
