Diamond Antenna Cr-8900a

I am contemplating buying this antenna for my Yaesu FT-8900R Quad Band Mobile. I noticed it attaches to a UHF connector but does not come with the Mobile Antenna Mount. Giga Parts does not recommend this being used on a Magnetic mount as it needs to be grounded they say.
My question is can I used like a lip mount and mount it on the lip of my trunk where it closes? Also is RG-58 okay to use with this antenna?
I am wanting to mount it on my 2008 Mazda3. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your suggestions and expertise in helping me getting this antenna mounted.

I've run a few of those antennas over the years, several using clamp-on, trunk lip-style mounts, and have had success.

RG58 or RG8X should be fine if you are running only 12-8 feet of coax, unless you really need high performance on UHF.
