I have noticed that a lot of R-20 owners like using the Diamond RH77CA antenna. I am thinking of buying one, however the Diamond RH951S High Gain Tri Band antenna also looks interesting.

Apparently the only difference is that the Tri Band adds receive capability up to 1300 MHz and beyond, whereas the RH77CA has receive capability only to 900 MHz.

I would like to hear opinions from anyone who has used the Tri Band antenna on their R-20. Are any of you even listening to anything beyond 900 MHz on your R-20?

For those of you using the RH77CA, did you choose that antenna because you figured that you can't receive anything above 900 at your location or was it because there is a $20 price difference between the 2 antennas?

Thank you in advance for your input.

I use an RH77CA with my Realistic PRO-43 and it does a GREAT job on both the VHF and UHF airbands. I can even hear MILSATCOMS in the 260 Mhz range with this antenna and NO preamp!

Sorry......no experience with this antenna on the Icom R-20, but it should work the same!

How does the RH77CA work on 800 MHz? Anyone using it for say, 800 MHz Trunking, or for 900 MHz Ham, etc.?

Thanks!
