Diamond D130NJ or D3000N

Does anyone know what the difference is between these 2 antennas? I looked at the manuals of both and it appears both units have the same upper and lower array = 280mm/11in and 820mm/32.3in. They both appear to have the same length, height and weight, but one claims 3000Mhz.

If the 3000N is giving coverage all the way to 3000Mhz would this discone give better coverage in the 800's and is anything in the 100's being sacrificed given the wide bandwidth? Is there anything to listen to beyond 1300? I'm looking for an antenna for a r820t sdr- thanks

Just keep in mind that you will get all of the upper and lower array but you will not get any GAIN.

Just mount it as high as you can in the sky as possible. They are great antenna's for receive for scanner radios. You can get these antenna's in N or UHF connectors if you wish

No to the first question about 800MHz.
Discones are designed to be optimal between 100-450MHz. So, no, you are not sacrificing anything at those frequencies.
Unless you are really close to any transmissions at 1200MHz and higher, you won't hear much of anything. Lots of telemetry and other digital in those ranges.
Go with the DJ130 and save some money for really good coax to feed the SDR device.
