It looks like Diamond Head may have incorporated a few years back. Are they on Hancock County (MSWIN) or on their own system or something else entirely? I looked thru the older threads & didn’t see anything.

Back in 2012 they were using a simplex VHF frequency for their law enforcement and fire department etc. even though Hancock County was on their own 800 MHZ trunked system. Then after MSWIN took off, MSWIN assimilated the sites that Hancock had and made it part of the network. All county agencies moved to MSWIN. But I have never heard anything from "Diamondhead" on there. I haven't been over there in a long time so I have no idea what they're using now, but I never hear them on MSWIN.

Here is what I found for Diamondhead:

I hear Diamondhead fire and rescue on MSWIN pretty much daily. They are dispatched on the Hancock County Fire/EMS dispatch talkgroup. (32387 7e83 D 23-FIRE/EMS County Fire/EMS Dispatch )
I dont recall hearing anything from their PD.

I just looked at the Hancock County MSWIN data. They show 4 towers within the county. However, they look somewhat underserved with only 2 LE, 1 FD/EMS, & 1 Special Event TG. Especially with all of the coastal special events; Crusing the Coast, Mardi Gras, St Patrick’s Day, etc. Land-wise, you would think they would need more TG’s but it’s probably driven by the population.

The number of towers has nothing to do with the local hancock county agencies using them. It's more for providing adequate coverage for all state agencies that will be roaming through the area. Yeah the locals only use 3 or 4 talkgroups but Hancock County is so large it requires at minimum 3 sites. Jackson County has 4 but none of the local agencies use it.

According to the latest MSWIN map Jackson County only has 2 sites. Not sure where you got 4. the Jackson Co 800 MHz system may have 4.

yeah I was mixing two different things. The county system has 4 sites, You're right, MSWIN has 2 sites in Jackson County. The one at Hwy 57 south of Hwy 90 in Ocean Springs, and the other is way up in North Vancleave on Wade-Vancleave Rd.

That is very interesting. I see some other counties that are not showing sites that are on MSWIN. Site 133 is close to the old Waveland PD and port Bienville is in the lower portion of the county off hwy 90.
