Is there a specific version of the Diamond SRH77CA Antenna for the SDS100? I'm purchasing another scanner and Diamond SRH77CA and on the last SRH77CA, I had to trim off the barrel of the antenna to fit the SDS100 socket.

Did I order the wrong version or is there an adapter I'm not using?

Any idea on the sub-model number? Looking on the auction sites, I don't see any difference in models.

Yes there is one that is just for the sds100 comes with rubber gasket

de784:
I (think) you are referring to the Remtronix 800M one??
It has a gasket - works great - for 800.

The OP is asking about a Diamond SRH77CA, which is a 144/440 antenna.
Of course, if DIAMOND is selling the same antenna, modified to fit a 100, great.
Post links, I want one.

To the OP:
I prefer a direct antenna fitment (no adapter,) if possible.
I (also) Dremmeled a Diamond SRH77CA to fit a SDS100.
If you do it correctly, it works great.
Used some metal black and made it look good.

Thanks

Thanks for clarifying nessnet, I also used my little bench grinder to bevel the base, but you one-upped me by using the metal black.

Perhaps I should be looking at the Remtronix instead. I'm primarily interested in the 700-800 range. I'm using the SRH77CA now and it sounds fine on my 700-800 frequencies.

Remtronix 800 seems to perform better IMO

The Remtronix is better on 800, but the Diamond is better on both UHF and VHF.

I use the BNC versions of both on the SDS100 with the adapter mentioned earlier.
