I bought a new car and in the process of moving my Diamond K412, the small metal spacer/support piece got lost. I've tried to find just a small piece of sheet metal or small metal shim that might work, so far no luck.
Does anyone know if Diamond sells small parts like that? I tried calling and got no answer, just a voice mail. Or if that fails does anyone know where to find a substitute piece.
Many thanks

I've found diamond to be very helpful with parts.. Try an email if you can find an email address.. I smashed one of my antennas once, and they had the parts out to me in under a week...

Does a lip mount need to contact bare metal, or just clamp to the paint?
And is it OK to co Locate dual band 50 watt near, another 12” away from theFM antenna for the car radio?
Thank you.

I am a lineman for the county.

You want metal to metal contact. The set screws that hold the mount usually are designed to bite through the paint if you tighten them down enough. Just be careful, too much can deform the trunk lid.
Also, you'll need to periodically tighten them.

No, not usually.
Best case: The high RF power will get into the AM/FM radio and overload the receiver. You'll lose the music while you are transmitting (maybe not a bad thing).
Worst case: The high RF power will get into the AM/FM radio and damage the front end. You'll permanently lose the music, talk radio, everything else.

You want more separation between the antennas.

Thank you, I forgot to add it is NL-770R and that the radio is turned off whenever using the transmitter, so I will give it a try and see.
