Click to expand... things to try from here; exit the BC VUP software and try it again -- Be sure you have the latest BC VUP software and if you had an older version of that, be sure to delete it before installing the new version. Be sure you have the very latest drivers for the USB cable.

The computer may assign a different com port when re-booted. Check hardware manager again just in case. Did you have an older version of BC VUP installed?
