Difference between DEC and HEX talkgroups

I'm planning on going digital with the Pro-2096 when it comes out, i'm pretty new to trunking, when i'm ready to program talkgroups on my unit which type should i use :?:

DEC...Hex is generally used for programming the radios themselves..

Ok, i've heard that one is for uniden and the other is for radioshack units is that true :?: all i want to know is which one is used for radioshack units.

Use DEC....
