Difference between SIGNAL STALKING vs SCANNING???

Whats the difference between the SIGNAL STALKER RS feature vs. scanning and reading the fequency detected in the SCAN mode? i.e. Why buy a SIGNAL STALKER scanner instead of just scanning the airwaves with a scanning handheld?

Signal Stalker pick up nearby transmitters (within 1 mile).

The close call (signal stalker) also works very quickly, instead of just starting at one end of the band and trying to work it's way across hopefully in time while they're still talking. It's great for when you want to know what freq is being used and you are within the area of what is going on. This feature alone is well worth it.
