Differences in the frequency listings Help

Can someone explain this one to me, The freq’s below are from this website
And work just fine.

856.2625 856.4625 856.7375 856.9625
857.2625 857.4625* 857.7375 857.9625
858.2625 858.4625* 858.7375 858.9625
859.2625 859.4625* 859.7375 859.9625
860.2625 860.4625* 860.7375 860.9625

Then I see listings showing 866.0125 as Tactical and calling
And then 866.5125 as Conventional

Then another listing has 851.9125, 852.2875, 854.9625, 855.2375
Listed with the regular trunking frequencies above. I think this was from the Scanware website ??????

I’m confused when I enter them all it seems to work so what’s
the difference. I don't want to miss some calls but I don't want junk
freq. taking up space.

This is on a Motorola Type II Smartnet system in Sedgwick county Ks.

Any help would be appreciated

You did not mention what scanner you use. If it's a new trunking scanner then you just enter the controller/s. If it's an older type without "controller only" scanning then you must enter all of them. If its a large system it may have several towers in your area. Usually you just enter one or two towers if used for base scanner, but enter several if used mobile. Set up one ID Tag list to start. You may have to divide that up later. Hope this simple answer helps. By the way do an 851.025 to 868.9875 search. Make notes of all controllers. This will help to verify whats live.
