digital CB Radio like dPMR exist?

Hello,

i'm serching for a Digital CB-Radio with a Networkinterface like the DMR (Digital Mobil Radio) or the smaller Brother dPMR (digital Privat Mobil Radio)
is there anybody who knowd from a Project like a Digital CB Radio?
This will be nice in long range usage and i make a test with my DMR i travel by car in a more then 80km distance during my travel i talk with my Hamradio Friend over a Reapetaer that is around 100km away with only 5Watts from Vienna to Kleinhaugsdorf. Please watch the map in Google Map => Start = Vienna Austria Europe destination= Kleinhaugsdorf Austria Europe

Isn't it that we need for non Licensed People a 'dCB' (digital Citizen Band) Radio for over and over more non Company Talkgroups!?
I think this is a must to have a new Aera in dCB because dPMR is also exist but nobody used that here in Austria i'm wondering why?

PMR-446 in the UK/Europe has authorized digital, which I *think* is based on the dPMR standard.

that is Correct in Austria are also the dPMR Band authorized but my Question was so is a dCB allowed? The reason why i'm asking is that PMR is in the maximum out only 0,5Watt. If you give a transmission on DMR 02321152 or 02321153 1/2 from Monday till Friday QRV oe1doa

I would imagine that recovered audio on 11 meters would be absolutely horrible considering the uncertainty of the range on that band. On UHF, the range is pretty much set in stone with little to no skip, so on the normal fringes, the radios still recover digital audio pretty darn good. You can talk around the World on 11 meters with only a few Watts, but it isn't very predictable, so one second you may hear a distant station clearly and the next a digital garbled mess.

Also, there are people all over the world using 11 meters and a large percentage of those users are not going to buy a new digital radio. This would create issues with recovered digital audio being mixed with SSB, AM and FM signals from everywhere (skywave propogation). Sounds fun on paper, but I wouldn't imagine it would work in the real world.

First - some parts i must answer with yes but the Hop over the Atmosphere is not the Question.
If the Band is open in 11m so the Range of Comunication is very high and with long distance. In CB it is not a Question about the good and the bad Signal it is a General Question for example the Bandwith is with 10kHz per Channel more then enove. The dPMR used for this Bandwith 6,25kHz so this is not the Problem. The Errorcorrection is 1:3 for FEC (Forward Error Correction).
The idea that there is no market or a CB-Radio user don't would like to buy a New dCB Radio is from the Hand because if you can talk in FM, SSB, AM now it is the same in the Digital World this Modulations are alos using a modulation what is a mixture from about FM & AM => QAM etc. or a FM Mode 4FSK and so on.

Have a look on the 'freedv' project this is the next way for CB Radio in future. I think the CB World is loosing there fascination all the people are going to the UMTS(3G), LTE(4G) etc Networks and telling us how super that is but for a CB-Radio Hobby it is more fascinating that you can do new things with your CB Equipment.

We don't talk here over OldManwith there CB Radios it is a new idea where you can connect the Web direct to a CB Radio for Text transmission. (you can do that also on a Mobil Network). You can use freedv (digital Voice) over the Air on your CB Radio. You can remote your Station from your Mobil with a Java-Script or a Java-ME Programm. You can receive Local CB Transmsissions to/from your Mobil. You can use your CB-Station as a Repeater from/into the network etc. A lot of possible things are now with a µController open so why is no Radio on the Market.

It is not allowed here in Europe to use a 70cm Radio without a License to make a transmission over more then 0,5Watt! That was the Idea to have a 4Watt Radio on 11m CB Band.
