Digital Monitoring

I noticed where some trunking digital services are type LTR. If they are this type and even though digital scanners are on the market not covering this type, how can you ever monitor these transmissions? Do you think the manufacturers will ever consider making units that monitor these transmissions since there is a market for it? Please offer your opinions.

I've not heard of Digital LTR systems.

You are correct sir! I too have never heard of an LTR system (of any type) that is capable of using digital audio (voice).

Multinet is for sure analog since I was able to monitor the Maui LTR Multinet system in conventional FM mode when I was there in August.

As is Passport. I made a special trip to Telluride just to verify what this system was. I was able to monitor (but not track it) on a Pro-92 (and others.) Interestingly enough, since the system is slow, you can easily understand everything going on just by sanning in conventional mode. 8)

That's exactly what I have been doing and you know what, your right. If you program all the frequencies of that service on analog multinet or passport trunking, you can actually monitor those frequencies listed and get the general idea of the conversation.
