Digital PRO 96 - one only - $289 in Cobb County
I have one PRO-96 for sale locally for $289. This is the ony place I plan to mention until next week. I have no plans to eBay or try to sell it beyond Cobb at this time since I think this is a a bargin needed by some deserving person who is going to be locked out when Cobb goes all digital. I also don't want the hassel of shipping or collecting funds.
My plans are to buy two new digital scanners this year and I can not justify owning three of them. I am trying very hard to think of a reason I need all three but so far I haven't gotten there.

No belt clip - it broke and I threw the pieces away. A metal clip for a gun holster can be bought near my house for this scanner for about $5 bucks at Smyrna Police Supply on Windy Hill Road. I do not want a new clip so I never bought one. I like to carry this radio in my shirt pocket and the clip makes it too thick.
There are scrapes in the PRO-96 finish on the top part of the speaker area where it slid along the ground when the belt clip broke. The PRO-96 screen has no scrapes and is as clear as the day I bought it. The three buttons in the bottom row show a fading in the lettering. I would be surprised if anyone ever scratchs a PRO-96 screen, it is resessed and very well designed for the hazards of carrying a portable radio.
There are no electrical or mechanical defects in this scanner. It is capable of much lmore volume than most portable scanners. It will need to go back to Tandy when rebanding to 700 MHZ occurs.
The following states and areas are preprogrammed into it for yor convience in V-folders

Georgia - SOUTH
Cobb County and NW GA
Alabama
N Florida
S Carolina
N Carolina
Tennessee
I can change the start up screens to reflect your ownership before you take it. This can only be done with Win96 which I own. Currently each screen has something along the lines of

For $290 you get the scanner, two battery holders and an antenna just like you bought it from Radio Shack.
If someone buys it before Thursday at noon I will include a $25 programining cable, my copy of Win96, a $15 black ham radio pouch that fits this scanner and a nine volt car charger for mobile use of the PRO-96. four 2500 MA AA batteries and a total of twelve AA Ultra Alkaline batteries.
If someone buys it before Tuesday at 6 PM I will include a special 800 MHZ antenna and a nine volt DC power brick so you can run it from AC.
I can be reached at 770-855-2531 more or less 24x7. That is my Verizon cell phone and I will talk longer to someone calling me from a Verizon phone as both of us would be IN NETWORK and the cell time would be free.
If I can not take the call it will roll over into voice mail and I will return the call asap if you include a valid number and name.
