I just figured my system is notorious for this issue, and it worked for me so why not share it.

Thanks for the suggestion. It appears that your system decodes properly with a threshold setting of 8 which is easily obtained with a P25 level of 200 which disables the automatic threshold setting mechanism.

On systems that require a different threshold setting (like the one I listen to), there is no way to arrive at a proper setting. I have tried all kinds of P25 level settings and none of them work. That is why the XT scanners are a poor choice for some of the people who want to monitor simulcast systems. If they are lucky the XTs might work but if they are unlucky, they are in for some real frustration.

The XTs need a firmware update to facilitate proper operation on more simulcast systems, not just some of them.
