I picked up a pro-96 today and programmed it the same way my pro-164 was programmed. I Can pick up PBCFR but cannot pick up martin county fire, Delray, Boca or Boynton. Is there something different i have to do to the scanner to pick them up. I am in Palm Beach Gardens.

Hello PBGVOLFF

Welcome to the wonderful world of Palm Beach County scanning. If you can hear the county system then you must already have it set for the rebanded table. You might be a little too far North to hear Boca & Delray. Boynton also maybe. I know that I lose Boca when I get to Boynton. I live in Delray and get all three of them and the county great. You might be a little too far South for Martin County. Each system is designed to keep as much of the signal as possible inside the boundries of the coverage area. Can you hear the Martin county control channel there? If not, maybe an outdoor antenna would solve your reception problems.
I don't have my radio with me but I think the only system that didn't reband was Boynton. Everything else must be set for the rebanded channels which is only accessable (I believe) through Mr. Starr's great program Win-96.
IF you still have problems send me your email addy offline and I'll send you my file that I know works and you can load it into your 96.
