I am seriously thinking about buying a Pro 96 Digital Scanner and am wondering if I am going to be happy with the results. What I am wondering, I live around Stockholm, 20 miles from Milbank, am I going to hear much more than what I hear with just an analog scanner. Just looking for your 2 cents.
Thanks

First, welcome to the site. :D

Well, if you want to hear the SD State TRS, you certainly need a digital scanner of some kind. I think that the Pro-96 (or 2096), is a better choice than the Uniden models for just listening. You will need to obtain the Win96 Software to be able to set the three groups of Base/Offset/Spacing used on the system. Take a look at the State of South Dakota System here on the site to see the actual settings. You don't need any special software to use the Uniden model's but they do have other disadvantages on this system. I suggest that you review the manuals for each and make your decision based on your listening profile.

If you do decide the Pro-96 is for you, I have posted on the ScanSD Yahoo group a ".p96" file (Win96 software) that you can use as a starting point for the system.

If you have nay more questions, just ask away. :)

Milbank PD uses the SD State TRS.

I listen to Grant Co from the Summit Site, which seems to be the main site that is used by Grant Co.
