Digital Scanners

I've rescently noticed that my local police department where i live (England, Essex) has switched over to digital, im wondering if it's worth the money paying out for a digital scanner, and what other advantages there is having a digital scanner, meaning, what kind of reception coverage would i recieve and what, also which models would be the best to go for, any help would be appreciated, thanks

What kind of digital did they switch to?

If it is TETRA there are no scanners for it.

I doubt any.

Is there any P25 in your area?

The "Digital" scanners, and realy just P25 scanners.

a digital scanner would be a waste of money unless you can verify that there are digital systems that are Project25.

Seem's UK systems haven't quite caught up with the digital trunking systems that most american police, EMS etc use, think i'll just have to stick with what i've got, thanks guys
