What is the biggest diff between the pro-96 and bc 296 Which one has better audio ?? does both track trunk 1 2 and 3 ?? and everything else

Shawn, I like the 296 because it does more things. It is a little bit more. You can pick one up on e bay or on the internet for 520.00. If you want something easy then go with the 96 (like aol.) but if you want all the bells and whistles and dont want to miss anything go with the 296. I have never heard the audio on the 96 but I have no problems with the audio on the 296.

I have both the PRO-96 and the BC796 which is the base version of the 296. I've noticed the audio on digital systems is more consistent on the PRO-96 but the 796 is less sensitive to adjacent channel interference - the PRO-96 cuts out on some comms where the 796 doesn't skip a beat. I'm still playing with both radios to see for myself each one's strengths and weaknesses, but so far that's been my observation.
