Digital Scanning Presentation

There will be presentation on Digital Scanning at the January meeting of the OHKYIN Amateur Radio Club.
The meeting will be Tuesday January 4th at 7:30 PM at 120 Washington Avenue in St. Bernard (just north of downtown Cincinnati).
It will be fun and informative for anyone who is interested in this aspect of radio.

This is a fairly non-technical presentation and will include some demonstrations of digital scanners in action
as well as some other scanner related software.

Cincinnati-Dayton Area

Since the first presentation went so well we are going to hold an encore, and this time with more than two weeks notice!

We will be giving a Presentation on Digital Scanning at the February MONIX Meeting on Saturday February 12 at 6:00 PM. Meetings are held at the
LNCB, 525 West Central Avenue (Ohio SR 73) in Springboro. Take Exit 38 off of I-75, go east on SR73 about 1.1 miles.
The LCNB is on the right just past Blockbuster Video. Talk-in is available on the 145.290 Franklin Repeater.

This is a non-technical presentation and will include some demonstrations of digital scanners in action as well as some other scanner related software.

If you plan to attend please let us know here, so we can get an idea of how many to expect.

Just a reminder, one week from tonight for the MONIX Meeting and our digital scanning presentation.
In addition I will be bringing along the new GRE PSR-800 for demonstrating and general ooing and aahhing. :wink:

Just a word of thanks to Rod Villari, KJ4IAM for putting on the Digital Scanning Presentation at last night's MONIX meeting. We had a great turn out and several others in the crowd for made the long trip up from Kenton County, KY.

Rod's presentation was very well received. Also a big thanks to jsoergel for showing us his information on Springfield ANGB and the "Angel Fire" program going on out at Wright-Patterson.

Everyone seemed generally impressed with the new GRE PSR-800 that we demonstrated. I'm sure in the coming months we will see several MONIX club members carrying them.

Thanks to everyone who came out, as usual the meeting lasted well past 3 hours, but there was a lot to share.

Next month's meeting will be Saturday March 12, at 6 PM at the LCNB. We will be giving a presentation on planning and building a Win500 file and how to do a proper memory map for your file.
