Dubois County is soon to be updating their radio systems to a simulcast paging system, which is good thing for VFS, EMS.

The article in the local paper mentioned Digital Sky, can anyone comment on what digital sky is?

I searched and know of Open Sky, NXDN, but have not found any information on Digital Sky. The only information I have received is the VFD and EMS will also have "pages" sent to their cell phones. This possibly being the digital sky?

Any information or comments would be greatly appreciated, as many members on here are much more informed than I.

The county intends on improving coverage for LEO, EMS, and highway workers.

The county currently uses a little of NXDN

Could have something to do with IPSC's soon to be in place Nex Gen wireless LTE system? I know it is supposed to be for ISP only at first, then for every PS agency statewide, in conjunction with the P25 upgrades of SAFE-T (SAFE-T first, then NexGen.....)

I believe Digital Sky is the company who won the bid. I could be wrong but I think it is a company name out of Northern Illinois.

Home - A WebsiteBuilder Website If it is them its EFJ, or Harris, or Kenwood. Which means going EFJ's ATLAS P25 Harris P25IP. Not sure if Kenwood does an entire P25 system or if it does what they call it, or NXDN.

It is to my understanding they will be going with Safe T the new P25 system that Safe T is going to. The paging system I think was to be upgraded as well as sending messages to cell phones as the Safe T P25 800Mhz system Does not support paging at this time. Unless something has changed the last time I heard about it. If I find out more I will post it.

The last I heard they where using Advanced Radio Communications located in Indiana to purchase the radios and set them up for Safe T

And use Digital Sky Wireless for Paging and Verizon Cell Phone Messaging

This may or may not be the radios they are going with like I said it was a long time ago I heard of there plans
Plans May Have Changed
Advanced Radio Communications.............812 683 8252.........EF Johnson 51SL Portable Radios
