Hello all,
I am trying to log all of the digital TG's on my local edacs system. It is a mixed provoice and analog system. I am running Etrunker v3.83 and want to know if there is a way to tell in the groups log if a TG is analog or digital? I have also been running IDtracker hooked up to a bc780 to log all analog TG's, but this is a tedious process of comparing logs. Thanks, Ty.

Hi Ty;

There is enough info in the EDACS control channel to distinguish a digital TG from an analog one. I don't remember if ETrunk displays this. I don't think it does (and if not, it needs to).

Digi TG's

ETrunk does display the "Gd" when on an active digital talkgroup, but I dont see if/where it logs that into memory. Ty.

I am not sure about this, but see if the "USAGE_hex" field in the "xxxxGRP.txt" file is related to the type of group you see. I think that "4" shows up on ASTRO type calls in Moto system, maybe ETrunk kept that in there.

Digi TG's

Lou,
I think you are correct!!! I have usage as 1,0,5, or 4. The 4's are only on know digital TG's. !!!!! I think that was it. I need to dig through the docs to getthe rest of the usage codes. Thanks a lot, Ty.

I have read those docs more than few times and I don't think you will find them in there. It is just another thing that didn't make it into to the docs. With Eric's and Lindsay's recent alterations along with Rick's work on the Windows version, the documentation really needs to be updated...hmmm.

The above poster was correct .. on Etrunker if it displays "Gd" then it is a digital talkgroup. If it is just "G" then it is analog.

Of course there are others as well like phone and individual for example .. but this is how to tell the digital ones. Oh and btw ... there is no way on an Edacs system to tell if it is encrypted so if it is digital or encrypted digital it will still show just "Gd", unlike on a Motorola system where you can distinguish between the two.
