What do the higher or lower digital threshold values control?
For instance, if adjusting the digital threshhold higher, will it help with a weaker digital signal?
Or if adjusting the digital threshhold lower, will it help with a weaker signal?

Thanks

Look at it as a window that you can open wider or close more shut to let a signal through. Open it too much and you also let in a lot of nonsense garbage or close it too much and only part of the signal passes and might not be enough to be useful.

If one setting where the correct one it could be set at the factory and not be user adjustable. It depends on the transmit signal and also on how weak it is. Usually lower values, that closes the window, works better with weak signals but then it might cut off some parts of the information and it can't decode properly and displays incorrect information. Different brand of basestations and even flavors of system types might need different settings.
