Digital Voice and CC Recieving

Hello all, I have a question that I kinda asked before. I have been doing some more thinking about this topic and was wondering. When I monitor a digital(3600) TRS, sometimes I'll pick up the cc perfectly clear but the digital TG will break up very badly. Sometimes it will be the opposite, the TG will come in perfect but the cc will be bad.

I have tried many antennas, all with and w/o the GRE amp, ATT and different locations. It seems to be the county I am in because I can actually pick up the county north of us just as well if not better than my own(at least 20 miles from county line).

I was just wondering if there was a way to even it out or a remedy I could do to solve this problem. In advance, thanks for readin and your time. God Bless.

It could be that the propagation from the particular channels is different.
Either different power levels or different antennas.

It could be that your scanner has different sensitivity to decoding the 2 level FSK 3600 from the 4 level C4FM/CQPSK P25/Astro signals.

It could be that the effective sensitivity of the your scanner is different on the two channels either due to something in the receiver (birdies, band edges, etc.) or due to something in the environment (Noise, IM, overloading, etc.)

The recommendations depend on the problem.

Borough a service monitor or spectrum analyzer and start sorting out the issues I presented.

My guess is the amplifier is doing you no good, and maybe some harm most of the time.

My guess is your scanner is not equally sensitive on all channels due to internal or external issues.

Yup, the amp did make it worse on 800, but did awesome on the other bands. I'm just thinkin it's the terrain in my county because it really isn't too bad building wise. We do have a lot of cell towers but other than that I'm clueless. I just wonder if the agencies that are digital have this same trouble, I keep hearing them having to repeat but who knows...
