The Main Border Patrol Frequency 163.350 mhz used to be analog until they had the repeater encrypted. I do remeber listening to the USBP mention several times about tech's going to the repeater site in Fort Covington, NY. Now they run with Digital Encryption and some of the frequencies are just digital data from sensors along the US/Canada border that is relayed to office. They are able to tract down movement/ camera's etc. I believe there was one frequency that u could here the "Oscar Units, and Charlie units on a one time" that is still analog, but it may have digital encryption now. This when i was travelling along ny, canadian border with my portable scanner, in ny state, last year., funny enough, i drove right past the border patrol office on the highway, somewhere east of Malone.
