I have used this digital audio level meter to fine-tune the sound of my feeds and it even helped a buddy to remotely crank down the volume on his too-loud railroad audio feed. He loved it. Saved him a 30 minute drive each way.

It's written by a British developer and is free. He has several meter styles on his web site, but the one I used is called Digital Level Meter.

It is very light on the CPU load. Once you install it just check that your scanner audio peaks are not red-lining using the stock settings and you should be fine.

Those of you who have switched to the new RR ScannerCast encoder will appreciate this meter, even though it can be used for any audio, not just your scanner feed.
