Dignitary Protection - Governor

I heard that Jeb Bush will probably visit South Florida this Friday. Does anyone know who provides dignitary protection and what radio system is used? I would suspect that the FDLE would be the agency in charge, but now that there are two seperate radio systems for Florida, how do they manage?

It would probably be encrypted if there is any at all, so it really woudn't matter which one they were on.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that it would be encrypted. But I am curious to know what they use. I've never seen anything on the topic. For all I know they could use simplex frequencies.

Depending on the sitaution you will also have Troopers, and even 1-2 other Fla agencies, also some local sheriffs or police units usually provide additional coverage. Most of the primary stuff is encrypted.

But are they on the State system? If so, they would have to have 2 different kinds of radios (Motorola vs. Tyco/Macom) right?

Yes, for a period of time if they are traveling outside of the M/A Com system into the Motorola covered system, but the South down here is all thats left. However realize that FWC covers a district which has both sides and they didn't seem to have to many problems, and yes some of the guys had two radios for the time being. Since they will be down here, its gonna be on Motorola . After this summer this should not be an issue.
Down thru Plam Beach County is expected to switch over in May.

Well phase 2 is thru Palm Beach County, and Phase 1 is Broward, Dade & Monroe, According to the updates, they are working all the way thru to Miami, but I have no confirmed information as to how far they have gotten. If I see someone from the South, I'll ask...
