DINGOTEL VOIP
OK,
Here is the scoop.
The Dingotel website and software are long gone.
The Connector is NOT a standard 3.5 mm plug,
I don't know who sells them other than as a cable for a headset mike
or a DingoTel Cable.
That's why I got a load of them.
you get a Motorola cable, thats worth it's weight in gold,
This you can cut in half and use for connecting two radios.
If you change over mike to ear ear to mike, and use VOX one ONE ,only
you have just set up a repeater.
Now, the Dingotel USB is a 'sound card", you don't really need it, your computer
can see it as a USB sound card.
That you use with Skype etc.
Problems, the vox is a little slow, you will miss words etc.
If you use use a relay to trigger the PTT on your TX Link from the interenet it
will work much better.
I used several modified with external antennas for Eqso and it worked fine.
You can do just as much probably a lot easier with a Duel hole USB sound card
the kind you get on Ebay for 99 cents etc.
The key is getting the cable connections correct and building the right interface.
Ideally, you need a voice delay circuit, just delay the voice till after the VOX triggers it, that is of
course not using the vox in the radio.
I've used several at the one location, all coming in and out of EQSO same room but on
different channels.
for the $9 each I paid, you can't go wrong for experimenting.
My goal was to put all the parts in a bag and sell it as a kit to get people
up and running which I will do in the future when time allows.
The main thing you need to do is open them up and build in an external antenna socket.
You can also adjust mike gain etc inside the radio.
I'd like to see if its possible to reprogram these supposedly
non programable radios.
Perhaps someone can open one up, read the Chip number and read
up on its capabilities.
When you do all that, its a lot easier to buy a 666 or 777 or 888 etc
Or an even better radio to do the job with a real N connector on the back.

I am looking to see if anyone has tried dingotel's voip yet. If so how is it also I am looking to modify the cable which is designed to plug into a portable for use om my motorola m1225 through the accesory jack any elp would be great
