Hey there fellow hobbyists, can anyone tell me if the unit numbers on the back of the Sheriff's Office cars like for example i saw a deputy on a traffic stop on 85 this weekend that had 20 on the rear bumper, i was curious if they go by that on the radio or is it set up a different way, if anyone has any idea, i'd deeply appreciate it.

I doubt it. I could see that being complicated to keep up with. Especially if one car has multiple drivers. Typically the officer or deputy is given a unit number. The number on the car is most likely for fleet management reasons.

I haven't found any real method to their numbering, but I do know a unit number is exclusive to the person in uniform and not recycled like they are in Petersburg. AC## is Animal Control I know that much. Sorry I cannot be any further help
