Has anyone tried using a Diamond or other diplexer to attach two different bands to one scanner?
My thoughts were to use a 6M antenna for VHF-Low and a NMO-800 for the upper range?

Anyone have experience with this type setup?

Thanks

Yea, like how does one get their car in and out of their garage with a five (or so) foot tall low-band antenna sticking up on the top? My car is a wagon and doesn't have a trunk. That's what stops me from putting a low-band antenna on my car. That plus the negative "hamsexy" factor. Is it possible to receive 39-45Mhz (or so) well with a shorter antenna? (For suitably low expectations of "well" I presume the answer is yes.)

Well, not for the scanner, but I do use one on the Icom 706MKIIG in the truck to split the HF from 6 meters, so I am using a dedicated 6 meter antenna for 6 and the screwdriver for HF. Works quite well, and it is a Diamond, but I would have to move the seat to find the model # which I am disinclined to do.
