Are they a online tool that draws a line to a tower so you can use a marker like a tree or building, etc, I found one a couple of years ago and now I can't remember the site

I used to have a DOS program where you could enter coordinates for both end points and it would output a compass bearing. But you can do that with Google Earth Pro (free). You can also get an elevation view of the path. You can adjust the height at each end point to check for obstructions.

What it does not do is provide a compass bearing. (see more below)

Much as I dislike the AI. Here goes:

You can then zoom in near your location and look along the line for familiar structures or features to aim past.

MORE: From the human..

The icon in the toolbar looks like 3 dots linked with squiggly lines. Use the Add_Path pulldown if lost.

You can use the Ruler tool to do this as well and it will give you distance and bearing, so you can use your compass, but be cautious of magnetic declination which can affect accuracy somewhat.

If I understand correctly what you're trying to do, here's what I do:

maps.google.com

Select Satellite view

enter first location and mark

enter second location

right-click on either location, and select "Measure Distance"

Click on your second location

This will give you the distance and then what I do, is zoom to look at for obstructions.

Like I said, I'm not sure if this is what you're trying to do, but this is what I do.

Hope this helps.

I think he is more interested in obstructions along the path.
