Discone and End Fed Wire Antenna on Same Mast OK?

Both antennas are for RECEIVE only.

I have a Diamond Discone mounted on the side of my house and it works great on my Uniden and Icom radios. I'm looking to get one of the commercially available end fed wire antennas for shortwave listening on my Icom R8600. My question is can I attach the balun box (with rope) to the same steel mast without issue? There would be about 10 feet of separation between the discone and the wire antenna. If it matters, I would likely not be using both antennas simultaneously. Thanks for the help, Ed.

If you are not transmitting, there should be no issue. I have an end fed for HF use, and one end is secured to a metal rain gutter with no issues, including transmit.
