I want to put up a Diamond D130J Discone ontop of my two story colonial and want to know if I can install say (2) indoor locations and (1) outdoor locations where I can hook into the antenna with my portable Yaesu vr500? Only one location would be in use at any one time...

Would I need to get a powered splitter of sorts?

Also, anyone using this antenna with a vr500? How is the overloading?

Thanks all
Keith

No, but you would have to keep termination resistors on every port that's not connected. IOW you go to the bedroom, disconnect the termination resistor from the cable and plug the cable into the scanner. Tomorrow you unplug the scanner, reconnect the resistor, go outside, disconnect that resistor and connect the scanner.

It might be easier (and better) to plug your scanner into one of the FM transmitters as discussed elsewhere on this site.

Then you can have it anywhere in the house you want.
