Not sure if this is a problem on my end or not. I haven't changed anything here however.

I have had to stop and restart Oddcast several times the last couple days.
For no reason it will just disconnect.

Anyone else seeing this?

Any ideas?

Yes, a couple of times even.

I'll try it again right now.

I can't even tell from my end when it is down. My oddcast player shows it is "connected" and the transfer rate, but when I go to the live audio feed on RR, it says "offline".

I'll give it awhile and let Lindsay and Gordon complete the move, then I will dig deeper if needed.

Can you guys give us some additional details on what you mean by it "being down" ?

Is oddcast still running when this occurs? Are you seeing an error message? If oddcast is running, what are you seeing in the window? Is the AutoConnect box checked?

In edcast/oddcast, try reselecting your sound card from the drop down and see if it connects.
I have run into this bug on several computers... I think its more of a problem with edcast though.

1. Oddcast is on the screen and appears to be running (the peak meter shows). The transfer rate shows "disconnected".
2. No error messages
3. Auto connect IS checked, although it does not try to connect on its own.
4. The buttons on oddcast are "connect' and "add Encoder". If I click connect, it will.

Since this started happening, I have closed all other programs (like pro96com), oddcast is the only program running on my computer.

FWIW - I had this issue on and off for a couple months at the start of this year. I dumped the Linksys router in favor of a Netgear and have not had an issue since.
Also, autoconnect seems to have a finite number of retries that it will do before giving up.

My feed has been up now for over 24 hours with no problems :)

I started Pro96com up last night and no problems with Oddcast.

You must have tweaked something on your end that helped. I haven't changed anything here.

No changes on this end. If the problem persists you might try using the latest beta of ScannerCast, available from Ham Radio Station K1PGV

If you use it, specify that your audio should be encoded at 16kbps. On the Icecast page, have it configure itself using your RadioReference.com username and password.

My feed seems to have gone back to going off line again...

I apologize to anyone listening, it never happens during the day, it is usually around 1 or 2 in the morning.

I still don't know why this is happening, but i am actively trying to figure it out.

I guess I can try ScannerCast next as Gordon stated.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. It will suddenly disconnect. Then it will begin trying to reconnect which it is never able to do. If anyone has better luck with some other method/server, please post it.
Thx!!

One of my two feeds (on separate computers) did this yesterday, for no apparent reason. Just kept trying to connect, and got a message saying something along the lines of "cannot connect to socket". I tried shutting down Oddcast and restarting it, but that didn't work. The only solution was to reboot the computer. Nothing else runs on that PC except a firewall, antivirus and Oddcast.

Router settings

I have been having the same issue with my Belkin router. I went to the setup page for my router and put my feed computer outside of the "DMZ". I don't really know what it is exactly but it is in the firewall settings so it made sense to try it. No problems since.

So I've given up on Oddcast due to the constant disconnecting issues. I'm trying to set up ScannerCast but I am unable to open/run the program. I keep getting a ".dll" message. Any suggestions??

I assume it's saying a DLL can't be found, which DLL can't it find?

On the ScannerCast page, in the Download section, it states that you must have version 2.0 or later of the .Net framework installed, did you verify that you have version 2.0 or later installed? If not, go to Ham Radio K1PGV for his instructions on how to check to see.
