I want to keep from getting in trouble for illegal software.

How would one Legally acquire Motorola programming software for a discontinued model (the mcx 1000).

Is it possible to legally acquire one?

thanks!

Contact Motorola, fill out the license form, send it back. go through all the BS, then order the software at the inflated prices they charge. Haven't looked, but would expect it to be in the order of $200 to $300. Then you need a RIB and the radio programming cable. Both of these are available from other than Motorola. Again I haven't looked recently, but you should expect to pay about $150 for the RIB and about the same for the cable.
